Film Festival Almost Over

May 24th, 2012 France and French !

Back your bags now and come to Azurlingua to join in on the day trips to Cannes because the Film Festival is almost over! Learning French in France has its benefits because you can take pleasure in all these glorious festivals that happen very close to Nice. The buzz has kicked off at the Cannes Festival with lots of Celebrities and fans crowding the streets with cameras. The paparazzi keeps getting larger by the day and it is literally taking over the view of the red carpet. This is making it very difficult for all the fans to see and get autographs from their favourite celebrities. With Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban arriving into Cannes, this year the festival will be swarming with some of the hottest couples in the world! Not to mention a baby bump, as Reese Witherspoon is scheduled to attend the Mud premiere May 26. Today Zac Efron and Matthew McConaughey will make an appearance on the red carpet for their premiere of The Paper Boy. To actually get a good spot near the celebrities it is highly unlikely but you can try and get there early and get a good spot. It would be wise to go with a friend or else you will never be able to go to the washroom and you will lose your mark. But always think positive when it comes to these situations, you never know what might happen.

There are only a few more days left for the Cinéma de la Plage and if you haven’t done it yet then you should go to Cannes beach and do it tonight! Right on the beach a screen is set up over the water and comfy chairs are provided for you to watch a film. The festival of Cannes provides blankets because it can get a bit cold after the sun goes down and there are people selling popcorn, chocolate, soda pop and all sorts of goodies for your needs. Tonight the feature film is Jaws and it was made in 1975 a very old movie but a classic and very popular. I would suggest getting there early so you can watch the film. If you cannot watch the film tonight, on Saturday May 26th there is a surprise film being featured and that will be a trip you do not want to miss.

Her Serene Highness

As I was doing a little research on the subject of today’s article, I could not help but notice the similarities between us.  Why, she was an east coast American, just like me! She lived in the French Riviera, just like me! She held dual citizenship with a European nation, just like me! Sure, she [...]

Culture Shock in France

I’m someone who travels quite a bit, having lived in South America, the Caribbean, Africa, and Asia for most of the last several years, and I have always enjoyed learning about different cultures along the way. After all that more “exotic” travel, you can imagine how I let myself believe that moving to France would [...]
